How to Prepare for Bed Bug Extermination

BEFORE TREATMENT:

✔ Reduce the amount of clutter

Reduce the amount of clutter within premises as much as possible. Clutter in areas provides bed bugs a safe place to hide.

✔ Remove any breakables

Please remove any breakables from treatable areas and safeguard valuables. Items should be sealed in Ziploc bags, clear plastic bags or stored in sealed bins.

✔ Items within your premises

Items within your premises should be wiped clean and/or vacuumed prior to them being placed in plastic bags or bins. Vacuum bags should be removed immediately, sealed and discarded. Items not properly sealed risk the spread of pests. Filters should be washed clean and thoroughly dried.

BEDROOMS

Remove all bedding including linens and bed pads; bag items for washing.

Remove all items from under the bed.

Cheese cloth will be removed from box springs for proper treatment and will not be replaced.

Bed frames must be disassembled.

If a mattress is ripped, torn or perforated, and/or deemed unsalvageable it should be discarded. Prior to its removal, it should be wrapped, clearly marked and taken to the building's collection point for proper disposal (please contact the building's management to ensure this is their procedure).

All treated mattresses and box springs must be encased (Encasements can be purchased from Bed Bug 911 Corp.).

All closets must be emptied-remove all items.

Empty all dressers and night stand drawers.

All miscellaneous items (frames, toys, nick knacks, adornments etc.) need to be wiped, removed and placed in bags.

AFTER EACH TREATMENT:

✘ AVOID ENTERING ROOM(S)

Avoid entering room(s) for a minimum of four hours after treatment. Allow mattresses, box springs and other treated areas to dry before reassembling the room.

✔ CLEAN VACUUM FILTERS

Area rugs and carpets can be vacuumed. Remember to clean filters and dispose of bags immediately.

✘ AVOID BRINGING “USED” ITEMS

Avoid bringing used furniture, mattress sets and or upholstered items home.

✘ DO NOT MOP

DO NOT mop for at least 14 days after the follow up treatment. This will give the insecticide time to eliminate all stages of the bed bug infestation.

✘ DO NOT CLEAN WITH AMMONIA

DO NOT Clean with Ammonia ( Windex with Ammonia-D) or Bleach spray products AFTER the treatment is rendered to avoid NEUTRALIZING the residual pesticides.

✔ INSPECT & VACUUM LUGGAGE

Carefully inspect and vacuum luggage when returning from trips.

✘ DO NOT OPEN SEALED BAGS

We recommend that you DO NOT seal bags for at least 14 days after the 2nd extermination treatment and until the infestation has ceased. If you do so priorm it is possible that a re-infestation may occur. DO NOT unpack any items until the bed bug problem has been fully eradicated.

PLEASE NOTE

It’s not uncommon to be bitten or see bed bugs after the initial treatment service. The treatment will eradicate as many pests as possible within the 1st visit and send them off their nesting and hiding spots. It is important that you give the treatment time to work. The 2nd extermination visit, which will take place 10 to 14 days days after will potentially kill any remaining bed bugs. It is imperative that instructions are followed and procedures are adhered to decrease the spread of the bed bug population.
