Bed Bug Infestations Present at Dormitories Nationwide

The bed bug pandemic is sweeping across the nation infecting colleges from the Atlantic to the Pacific Oceans. As stated earlier, this resurgence is greatly attributed to dormitories being the perfect breeding ground for bed bugs; a multitude of hosts, and cluttered areas that experience a lot of hustle and bustle on a daily basis.

According to various campus newspapers as well as national newspapers, bed bugs have been reported in many campuses across the nation, including:

  • UCLA

  • San Diego State University

  • USC

  • Indiana University

  • George Washington University

  • NYU (On Campus & Off Campus Housing)

  • University of Florida

  • Texas A&M University

  • Ohio State University

  • Stanford University

  • John Jay College of Criminal Justice

  • Loyola, Chicago

  • Yale University

  • MIT

  • BYU (Hawaii)

  • University of Central Missouri

The scariest thing is that these are just some of the colleges where bed bug infestations have been reported! The reality is that even if you don’t see your college listed here, it does not mean that the college is bed bug-free. Another thing to keep in mind is, just because there was an infestation, doesn’t mean that these facilities currently are infested; however, college campuses tend to have many international students that travel frequently so there is a good chance dormitories can become re-infested!
